OK, I'll be brave and ask another question here on this thread. I got pounded when I asked my first one.
With less than six months to go to possibly the EOTWAWKI as the doomsday legion would have us believe, would anyone care to offer an opinion as to what should be minimum preparation for a potential disruption in basic supplies. Here are some items that I am planning on getting:
1. Generator to supply electricity to at least part of my house.
2. Plenty of drinking water - a few months supply.
3. Canned food - same amount as above.
4. Gasoline storage container to supply item 1 and also my vehicles.
5. A supply of cash and even some gold.
6. A device to collect rain water.
7. Supplies to be able to cook without electricity.

These are the first things that come to my mind. Since I am new to this "survival" game, I would welcome any suggestions. The way I look at it is that I don't see the collapse of society, but there could be some disruptions and even if there aren't, the above items are useful even if there are no disruptions.
Please don't beat on me too hard this time :-)

Oops, I almost forgot.

8. Home brew equipment and ingredients for making beer ( Actually,I already have
this ).
