(COMTEX) B: Bitten By The Office Bug
B: Bitten By The Office Bug

Jul. 10, 1999 (InternetWeek - CMP via COMTEX) -- When you've been a
net detective as long as I have, you can't help seeing a few bugs. I've
seen bugs so big they had their own network address, bugs so mean that
they would chew up a server just to watch it fail. But I had never seen
a bug like this one before.

It was 6 feet tall in its stocking feet, of which there were more
than I cared to count. It had a great, hairy torso that looked as
though it could eat a midsize company. It made me think of IBM, which
is in talks to acquire (EP 7/23#5) Systems, a company that makes
supercomputers based on the Intel architecture. The deal is designed to
help IBM bolster its Intel-based server line.
