hi alan, re: "Loadwc checks to see if IE is your default browser, and can be turned off via Internet Options in Control Panel (click on the Programs tab and uncheck the box at the bottom about checking for IE as the default browser)." so far, i've only been able to shut this off in the 'close program' dialog via 'end task'. the internet options/programs tab route doesn't keep loadwc from starting on reboot. i was just in the start menu section to remove a program called findfast that was causing restarts. but i can't locate anything that looks like loadwc. and... is this where i would remove it (when i find it)? :) mark
