Aw, c'mon, Skeets... ALL of those hundreds of posts, debating w/ Brian, Gottfried and others, purely an intellectual exercise? Or were you simply trying to save us from ourselves? That having been said, I appreciate your presence on RMBS thread as a GREAT contrarian (bullish) indicator! ;-)
Amazing how technology and greed work: most of us (excluding you, of course) want bigger and better even if we "don't need it"; the DRAM guys (not to mention INTC, of course) want more revs AND higher margins... etc, etc..
Technology drives the applications, not vice versa; our materialistic desires are simply the enablers for this growth opportunity. Witness the semi-equip's renaissance (which you argued against in your ~ 10,000 posts, may I remind you)... only 8 mos after the worst crash in history... a rebound due to the shift to 0.18 micron, despite the greatest fab (0.25 micron) overcapacity in memory.... despite pricing which is still below profitability. The DRAM boys WILL find a way to make a profit, by shifting to 0.18 micron and RDRAM, and we will all benefit from this. Higher bandwidth, streaming video, higher RMBS stock price, greater losses for Skeeter <gggg>. |
