When Ben was a baby, and I was still in law school, I put him into a part-time day-care that had both "normal" children and a number of children with mild "special needs," e.g., blind, spina bifida and in a wheelchair, cerebral palsy. I thought it was a good place with a high teacher-student ratio, and I thought it would be good for him to learn that everyone wasn't as able as he was. I can't tell whether it rubbed off on him, or not, but he does take people with disabilities pretty much for granted.
