The other links on my page are not my material, I just thought they might be relevant or interesting, and I make no representations as to their correctness (g).

As for the end of the original Tulipomania, my copy of "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds" states that the government declared all contracts made prior to November, 1637 to be null and void, but only AFTER the market had retreated of its own accord. Mackay's accounts are not to be fully trusted, however: I highly recommend this edition, just for the fine introduction by Martin S. Fridson:
