Sheila,
Interesting question, and one I've been thinking about since Iomega sold Ditto...they retained the right to use the Ditto trademark, and it seemed to me at the time that they certainly wouldn't just give up on the high capacity backup market that easily. I'd been expecting them to come up with a high capacity MO drive under the Ditto name---perhaps that is what the hiring in Colorado is about...Of course, the buildup at Io's optical site could just be related to ZipCD, depending on what the arrangement is with Phillips. Maybe Io intends to do some of the work on these drives themselves: nameplates, packaging, software, that sort of thing.

Enjoy your posts. By the way, I'm another long-suffering doc; not an internist, though...:)

Bob
