I ask you, what is more important? Colonizing Mars or soccer?
Important to me? A = Neither.
Soccer for me is entertainment and a sport, therefore I derive a direct and current benefit directly and now. In earlier years, if affected me more, as I was part of the sport. Nothing more, nothing less.
Mars is for space conquerors, while interesting and hopefully, if ever achieved, will benefit mankind. (But for better or worse, I have nothing to do with space exploration, therefore, to me is rather on the irrelevant side for me.) Perhaps reading about is a form of education and entertainment, nothing else.
