Mr. K......I hope you understand that your laptop probably won't be as fast as the WEBTV....just a guess since I never had WEBTV.

It could be as fast if your area has cable access for the internet and it's cheap enough....I'd advise you check that out first.

Trading out by the pool is a beautiful image...but sometimes fantasy should be left alone as reality is never as pretty or as accommodating....I have a pool and a laptop and some home PC's and still have my fantasy intact.

You want to hear the alarms by the pool, turn the volume up and open the window....

I think you should get a cheap home computer that you could set in front of the window that looks at the pool....it's much cheaper and let's you have the time to figure out what you like in the computer before you spend the bigger bucks for the portability of the laptop...that is, unless you move around more than your post indicated.

The thing that I hear people have some trouble with is when they have real time data feeds coming into the computer and maybe some other programs running at the same time....I don't know, I don't have real time feeds.
