Since reading through the patent literature, I have had a certain feeling about Dan Pharo, the inventor of the AirBox. He seems to be somewhat of a linear thinker. Very much my opposite when it comes to inventing. He has patented 15 or 20 variations on inflatable plastic bags for packaging over the last ten years or so. Many of them are hard to distinguish unless you read the claims carefully. He has not patented anything else as far as I know. My threshold for boredom might have been exceeded about nine years ago, but he's still pursuing the perfect air-inflated package.

It takes that kind of person to carry on and refine a design until it is near perfect. He's put an awful lot of time into this design and it works surprisingly well. I don't doubt that if we pointe out a failure mode to him, he'd go back and make some refinement to make the bag a little better.

And once again, we didn't exactly follow the directions when we splatted the egg.
