I don't think "people" (those "in general" ones) have any idea what it's like. It would be very tiring without having to work and execute in/under pressure.

People just think it's going to be fun. Well, no, it's not. Probably not even for a minute. All you wish is you were home. Or you had a different job.

Is my opinion companies should send people a couple days in advance of when they need to be there, without work to do. (Oh sure.) They might get double the productivity. Or, they might just do it for their employee-partners out of respect. (Sure.)

I hate air travel and airports and rooms that aren't mine.

First Class isn't really first class. It's still the goddam plane, kerosene scentor poking along, crawling thru time zones; still landing at an airport with your stuff to go get, like it ran away and needs picked up at the principal's office.

Rides through foreign cities, well, any city, in the back of a car ~ yum. Hotel checking-in, is like funerary. Noticed that? It's like reporting your own death, at a police station. "Well, here I am, completely lost in the world, hoping you guys will find me and pretend I'm not." "These bags here. These, are my life."

"Well. I'll just pop in the Rouge, suck up a skein of absinthe and Dom, and pinch Loie's fanny! That ~ Girl!!"

Would you go with him and keep the poor guy company if the boys were vaporized? Well, gee, I guess that's none of my business. How could you answer, anyway? "No." I know I always feel much better if spouse is traveling with me. It's like having part of home, home with me. Someone to laugh with. They can turn misery into joy.

You tell Dan he can sigh or cry into my burp rag any time.

Sometimes your goddam superiors also think you're sposed to think it's cool they're beating the shit out of you. They treat you like you're six.

"Not everyone gets to go go Paris."

"Maybe you'd like to go then."
