Manugistic6 Developed to Power e-Chains
New Product Unveiled at Working As One '99
ORLANDO, Fla., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Manugistics Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANU), announced at its annual global supply chain conference today, the release of a new family of products -- Manugistics6 -- to power Manugistics e-Chain Solutions. This suite of products provides unique functionality for advanced build to order processes, sophisticated optimization capabilities, enhanced collaboration between trading partners, and open integration.
Today's customers have increasing expectations for order personalization and speed of delivery. These increasing demands, often intensified by online ordering, are pressuring manufacturers and suppliers for improved cycle times and flexibility. To meet this need, Manugistics has introduced a suite of software products for build-to-order manufacturers -- Manugistics6 Constraint-Based Master Planning and Real-Time ATP+. Constraint-Based Master Planning is designed for vertically integrated build-to-order manufacturers needing to simultaneously plan multiple factories and different levels in a bill-of-material. This functionality jointly optimizes distribution and manufacturing needs across tiered levels of manufacturing for supply chain visibility from raw materials to customer receipt. This holistic view is the foundation for Real-Time ATP+, a software product to connect the customer with order availability, configuration feasibility and shipment status. These advanced products are the foundation for the Manguistics e-Chain Fulfillment Solutions.
Harnessing the domain expertise of 15 years of experience in building advanced optimization for supply chain planning, Manugistics6 unveils a new level of enterprise optimization for the supply chain innovator. These advanced optimization engines of Manugistics6 are coupled with an easy-to-use, enhanced Web-enabled user experience -- VIEWpoint(TM). This common, suite- wide, easy-to-use interface greatly improves the ability of a user to make critical decisions and work collaboratively with planners and decision makers across the enterprise.
Manugistics6 introduces innovation for real-time collaboration. Through work with more than 50 clients, Manugistics has significantly enhanced its line of web based collaboration products -- NetWORKS(TM). These products enable Intelligent Commerce between trading partners with real-time alerts, messaging, and decision visibility.
As the pioneer in supply chain planning, Manugistics has been an innovator in recognizing the need for packaged, reusable integration and an open architecture to enable rapid results without a major overhaul of existing systems. Manugistics6 line of products will offer enhancements for Open Applications IntegrationO with OAI/Enterprise for connection of enterprise applications with pre-packaged auto plug-ins and OAI/Net for business-to- business integration.
"As online order processes mature, companies are questioning how to profitably grow market share while simultaneously dealing with the increasing demand for product and service personalization. Manugistics6 is designed to solve this problem for the manufacturer of a highly configured, build-to-order product," said Greg Owens, president and chief executive officer, Manugistics. "Our focus at Manugistics is flawless execution. Manugistics6 and the Manugistics e-Chain Solutions will enable us to deliver on this vision."
