Yeah, but these would only be the uncovered shorts, meaning those exceeding half the shares held by any particular brokerage, as this is, or was the rule in this country--shocks our southern friends at times. Maybe this has changed, somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. In any case, shorting PLT would be reeelly stupid, IMO--the most to gain would be a few cents and the potential for loss enormous. OTOH, as a very short-term strategy, like when it does 20% in a day, maybe it could work (and it would have worked well last week), but it's too scarey for me, I go long and relax.... |
