Assuming that stock investing, or trading would be similar to motor-racing...
It seems to me that your recommendations would be equal to attempting to lead the race, looking continuously on the rear view mirrors....as the main focus.
While always advisable to do so, as a cautionary technique, mainly as a way to know where your competitors are, not to mention, avoid running into one of them. However, the main focus has to be the road ahead.
Given your response, it is my impression that you seem to be doing the driving concentrating on the bogey monster right behind you... participating in the race, merely with the idea of not losing the starting money. [i.e. just in case the bull lasts longer than expected].
Seems to me, it must be absolute hell when fast approaching a corner, suddenly pick up the shadow of the feared monster as you are taking the fast curve.... but then it fades, again, and again.
As nothing happens, one becomes accustomed, even complacent that the monster really should not be feared at all.
Until all of a sudden, the concentration on the rear view mirrors takes its toll, and soon, one approaches yet another fast corner with a rapidly deflating front tire, while the eyes and concentration were looking for the monster behind...
As one crashes against the retaining embankment, the possibility exists to bite the tongue quite strongly <g>.... possibly even chopping it off <gg>
Then watching from the side lines, one observes, that the so much feared monster was only an imaginary one, as one sees the race continuing, minus one.
Let's buy and forget the mirrors, what the hell, we will either win, or or we'll meet at the soup kitchen of the local mission... I will be the one with the bitten tongue... maybe even without one <g> |
