<I love playing RPG's.>
Alan, keep in mind that you are talking to someone who thinks the majority of PC buyers out there only browse the Web and never do anything else like play video games, process digital photos, generate MP3's, etc.
Though RPG's might not be everyone's cup of tea, even the big name games out there like Tomb Raider, Starcraft, Star Wars Episode I, and Need For Speed really do require a lot of computing power. And those are the titles that typically sell on the order of millions. I would hate to see someone buying an eMachine for $500, believing the myth that computers are "fast enough," only to find that they're shut out of mainstream gaming because their PC is underpowered. That $500 price tag that once looked like a steal now becomes a representation of money flushed down the toilet of obsolescence.
Of course, there are many people out there who only care about Web browsing or word processing, etc., who already know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they won't do anything else with their computers. And that's fine. But they do not represent the majority of PC buyers out there.
