Dear Jeff: I dont want anything thats useless but I was led to believe that the new 56k modems will run at that speed over telephone lines. If I was wrong then of course I wont buy. That was the reason I posted the message on the board. To find out if it was a good thing to buy. I now have a 33.6 modem which originally I though was the fastest thing which would run on phone lines, I presume you are saying that is still true. jdn
