.Trev,

"""Are there any comments of doing such a move in summer versus winter conditions, if you have any choice??"""

There are serious infrastructure and time limitations to the amount of diesel fuel that can be railed to Hay River, tanked and hauled over the winter road....in addition to fuel going into Ekati, with the possibility of Diavik going ahead and Tahera likely wanting to get some fuel up to Lupin, perhaps more bulk sampling by Monopros, and with Winspear wanting supplies and fuel into Snap Lake for a 40,000 tonne underground program, I have doubts everyone can be accomodated(I still have major doubts about Diavik being able to go ahead because of infrastructure and time limitations with respect to how much their annual fuel requirements for developing and operating a mine will be-I remember one year not so long ago when Peggy Witte couldn't operate her gold mine at the Batty dyke because Lupin, Ekati and the town of Yellowknife booked up 100% of fuel transport capacity for the north).....if Winspear is on the ball, and if possible, they have already booked space on the winter road(booking space on the winter road could well be another sore point between Aber and Winspear).....there is a possible alternative for Winspear that is not available to Aber or Tahera...that would be a winter and perhaps even a year round road straight south for 50 miles down to McLeod Bay on Great Slave Lake...this would allow fuel and supplies to be barged from Hay River during the summer months.....
regards,
teevee
