oh, OK. I got bored looking at this market. I lurk, I have little to contribute. It increasingly looks more like physics than business-- somebody is launching missile guidance systems labeled "internet stocks" into an expanding matter-antimatter sphere of debt and equity, and the little stock molecules in the russell 2000 moving in brownian motion.
To a good first approximation, world debt= world equity
Holding stock is like renting the poolhouse from the guy with the million-dollar mansion..you can't see the ponzi scheme he used to finance the house, you see strange people knocking on the door and you know something's up, but there's no good place to move.
