OTOTOT ....turning into a nation of net check earners and "what's my monthly payment?" consumers

I just bought a $400 lawn mower. They pushed the "90 days same as cash" credit thing so I went for it with the intention of paying it off in 90 days.

2 days later got a bill form the finance company with a $16 dollar minimum payment due. I asked the mower dealer what was the point of this bs $16 and it was explained to me that the company wanted to use the 90 days to train you to get into the habit of paying $16 per month ( @20%+ apr ) ad infinitum.

I was so appalled I payed the whole thing off at once.
