Good, maybe there's some rationale for this irrational range that we've been captured in.

Well, FWIW, I've recently being trying on a "quant" hat to see what it feels like. I've written a program that tries to reveal unusual stock moves - i.e., moves that can't be explained in terms of other stocks that normally move in tandem with the stock. It's still all very preliminary and probably bug-ridden, but for the past few months GLIA stands out as a biotech that has had big unexplained moves not caused by any announcements. (XOMA is another example of a large unexplained move, but there at least there is big news percolating somewhere in the background).
