I have been thinking about the Y2K being a possible delay for new sales and AR's excuse actually makes sense. Comparing Oracle to SNDCF is not really fair.
#1 they are completely different companies. Oracle has a HUGE installed base so Y2K is actually a bonus for Oracle because a lot of people are overhauling and upgrading their databases (I should know I work with Oracle databases everyday). In addition Oracle has a very strong web database sales growth Oracle 8i is a hit with everyone.
#2 there is a freeze at a lot of companies to any new database products implementations, especially the big ones which can use Sand's product. All they want to do is to make sure that their production are Y2K ready.
#3 IT budgets are stretched as most companies redirect their resources to Y2K readiness.

My guess is that Sand is gonna willie around for 2 quarters untill after Y2K. Then when the panicked stricken populace will open its eyes and realize that the world still exists and all their banking, telephones, heat, appliances, doors, windows still work, Sand's customers and beta sites will go through a flurry of buying activity as they scamble to incorporate the Nucleus server into their environments. The stock will rebound and we'll get our breakout and live happily ever after. Amen

(LOL)
