************************************************* Nelfinavir, Saquinavir & Nevirapine RESULTS
From BostonCDS@aol.com Organization unspecified Date 22 Mar 1997 08:58:43 -0600 Newsgroups sci.med.aids Message-ID <43364@sci.med.aids>
One of my best friends got back some amazing results today.
After ONE WEEK on the combo of nelfinavir (Agouron's new protease inhibitor), saquinavir and nevirapine, his viral load dropped from 170,000 to BELOW DETECTION of 500 copies, his CD4 absolute count jumped from 97 to 208, and his CD4% jumped from 5% to 13%.
It is important to know that he has tried and failed the following in the past two years: Indinavir (Crixivan), AZT, 3TC, ddI and ddC. He never could tolerate Ritonavir (Norvir) or D4T.
His dosages were Nefinavir (Viracept) 750 MG x 3, Saquinavir (Invirase) 600 MG x 3, Nevirapine (Viramune) (regular recommended dosage - can't remember exactly)
THEREFORE, someone who has failed Crixivan (and everything else) can potentially switch to the recently approved Agouron Protease Inhibitor, Nelfinavir (Viracept) with Saquinavir and Nevirapine and see AMAZING results.
It's only one anecdote, but it's terrific news if there is not cross-resistance between the new PI and the older ones!
