H.P. Yee, Yes when I bought these leaps in 12-96 I had
no doubt that intc would be in 175-190 range after the
split in June. Then the nice runup in Jan. seemed to be
confirming my hopes. Now, even though I have yet to see
what I would consider bad news directly related to Intel
the stock just gets beat up a little more each day. What
concerns me is if now one piece of bad news did come out
(Intel only meets avg. 1st qtr. earnings estimates
instead of the high end or beating the highest est. as
is always expected) what would happen to the stock
price? My initial projections(hopes) were for prices of
170 before split rising to 190 after 2nd Qtr. earnings
release in July then leveling off or even having a small
correction until Nov. and then resuming rise to Approx.
215 in mid-Jan-98 and on to 270 in Jan-99. I'm now
adjusting my expectations to 170(7-97), 195(1-98), and
240(1-99). We both know how fast Intc can move to the
upside when it makes up its mind to do so and I hope
either of these projections are even close to what
actually will transpire. I appreciate your replys and I
know ZERO about selling calls so if you would elaborate
on that I would be interested. Also when I bought these
leaps in 12-96(15 at 22 for an expense of 33K) do you
think it was an ok strategy to try and take advantage of
Intels coming split and rise in stock price or would you
have used the 33K in a much different way.
