Expansions in Dallas and Chicago and Japanese Subsidiary
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspect Development, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASDV), the global leader in Inbound Supply Chain Management solutions, today announced the opening of six new sales offices in the United States and the expansion of its headquarters and three other offices internationally to help manage the company's continued growth. Aspect will open new offices in Detroit, Minneapolis, Houston, Washington D.C., Miami, and Cincinnati, and expand the space of its Dallas and Chicago offices to accommodate the increased demand for Inbound Supply Chain Management solutions. These offices will also enable the company to better serve its manufacturing customers in specific industries such as Automotive and Oil & Gas that have heavy concentration in regional locales.
The company also moved the location of its Japanese subsidiary to Shinjuku, the prestigious IT business area in Tokyo. Aspect Japan tripled its office space size to allow for increased growth in the Asian market.
"We are extremely pleased with the ever-increasing global interest in Inbound Supply Chain Management among manufacturers from a wide range of vertical industries," said Bob Evans, president and COO of Aspect Development. "The establishment of additional and expanded sales offices domestically, as well as the expansion of our Japanese operations reflects our continued commitment to worldwide business growth."
The expansion of Aspect's Japanese subsidiary office is due in part to the leadership of newly appointed Aspect Japan president, Katsuhiko Takahashi, who is overseeing Aspect's growing presence in the Japanese market. The improved Asian economy also contributes to the increased demand for the high return on investment that Aspect solutions offer Japanese corporations. Aspect Japan will be hosting an Executive Briefing series at the new office space in Shinjuku on Inbound Supply Chain Management, July 15, 1999. The Japanese organization expects executives from over 30 major Japanese companies to attend.
About Inbound Supply Chain Management
"The inbound portion of the supply chain focuses on the product realization cycle that includes sourcing and product development where the vast majority of manufacturing costs are incurred," said Evans. "The cost of incoming parts and supplies represents 75% of the cost of most products today and nearly 50% of a manufacturer's revenues."
Aspect's Inbound Supply Chain Management solutions allow companies to optimize the suppliers, components, and materials used to design and process products, enabling strategic collaboration between product development, procurement and the supply base. The benefits are typically measured in hundreds of millions of dollars saved by large manufacturers. Aspect Development has pioneered the market, and is the leading worldwide provider of inbound supply chain management solutions. |
