Robert / Deep Californian Tests

This is off the top of my head - I stand to be corrected, and probably will.

Prior to Bellevue#1, I believe there were only three wells drilled to deep formations (15,000 feet or more). All were unsuccessful. The deepest producing well in California is at the Rio Viejo field near Old River and Copus roads southwest of Bakersfield, which bottoms out around 14,500 feet.

I believe there is some specific information located in the 100 Year History of Oil Exploration In Kern County located at the Bakersfield "The Californian" newspaper site. You might want to give it a look-see. bakersfield.com
