hello larry and all:

so much for a quiet sunday afternoon...
-
paul js - post 3876 & 3882 - common sense will prevail for both sts and krt... i was being critical though in my analysis of the investors' bailing in that situation because mgt was going to the pp if all else failed. i feel they should have kept the shareholders better informed so they could make an informed investment decision... i also like a release with no jv approval needed....
-
bob brigger - 3881 - yes, another duck lined up. i can't wait for them to start quacking....
-
joe boster - 3885 - joe, welcome aboard. maybe you can give us a brief view of how it is being a global shareholder....
-
larry brubaker - 3886, 3895, 3900, 3904, 3910, 3912, 3936 - if i missed any.... larry you now say the engineers' have spoken and you are right? if i knew you were talking about "PRESENT" value i would have still disagreed with you but would have stated i thought it was equal to 25 million shares of krt and a $6 million debenture (the consideration given up by krt in the deal...). the fact that fluor came out with a higher present value is insignificant to me because krt paid what it paid for it. i did not come up with the $600 million figure you still complain about, diamondworks did. but yet you still "blame" me for this because i stated it here. go blast dmw at their thread for this figure. 15 million carats under production immediately? if the person who stated this can come up with a way to do this then i am sure krt will have a job waiting for him/her at falc eventually. as a shareholder, i will try my best to get them that job. the $600 million figure did not come from me even though as tony d does the math in post 3898 he proves me quite correct in the context that dmw was talking about and how i relayed the info along. what is disturbing is that i calculated the $600 million figure for you on this thread and now you even stated that fluor estimates 8 million carats at a value of about $88 a carat (why don't you blast me for using only an $80 valuation...). that's $704 million in diamonds. do i know how long it will take to mine all these diamonds? neither one of us do yet you feel confortable citing fluor's 45k per year production number. i like a debate as much as you do larry and hopefully it will help all readers (no matter their capacity) but please stay consistent with your assumptions and please don't take words i write out of context (ie. 15 million carats immediately in production...). in brief, yes the fluor report is in and as YOU state the total value is even more than i passed along ($704 vs. 600 million). it is the only way i like to be wrong. on the conservative side.... another disturbing thing is we already rehashed this discounted calculation many posts ago and we even agreed there but yet you persist with these statements. i like your not toeing the company line larry but twisting things like you do clouds a meaningful debate. a meaningful debate is something that will help this thread like any other thread on s.i. obviously to belabor this arguement further is not productive so consider you were right in what you were trying to argue and i was conservative in what i was passing along... if it is indeed personal larry by all means privately e-mail me so we can move forward, not backward.....
-
steve rose - 3888 - good to hear you are going... safe trip even if it is just down the block. i'm still working on it but it doesn't look good at this point....
-
farokh - 3892 - i do see some strength going into the agm but mid-2's is optimistic imho. they don't need the money now so no need to manipulate the price upwards.....
-
tony d'alessandro - 3898 - thank you for the calculations.... it comes down to whether we have faith in mgt's ability to properly upgrade the sites...
-
leigh mcbain - 3899 - beating my brains out?? i only worry about it if they using facts and are correct. my view has always been the present value of the china deal is what krt is paying for it. whether someone has trouble admitting this is not something worth arguing.... thanks for the support.

i have run out of time and must go, 25 days until the agm... let's debate whether we should vote yes or no to the china deal....
regards, buddy
