I am so excited! I found out that I can apply for federal jobs on the Internet! I don't pretend to be an expert, as this is all new to me, but I found out that all I have to do is draft a resume using a template at the OPM federal employment site, and then submit it on-line to the appropriate agency. Halleluiah, because the first job I am trying for closes today, and the place to send the resume is in North Carolina.

The first job I'm trying for is with the Coast Guard National Pollution Funds Center, they administer a clean-up fund for oil spills in coastal waters. I expect the competition is tough, because there isn't that much environmental work on behalf of the "good guys," if you want to do environmental law you usually have to work for polluters. But I may have an edge with all the litigation experience I've got. And I did study environmental law, even did special research on the Clean Water Act.

Just finished my first draft of my on-line resume, taking it to Crystal City for Chris to critique.
