Offering World-Class Privacy Services to the Internet's Top Companies Over
Exodus' Industry-Leading Infrastructure
SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Exodus Communications(TM), Inc. (Nasdaq: EXDS), a leading provider of Internet system and network management solutions for enterprises with mission-critical Internet operations, today welcomed Privada, Inc. as an Alliance Partner.
Privada, Inc. has developed technologies that allow Internet users to conduct their activities -- browsing, email, newsgroup posting, chatting, and most importantly, purchasing -- without fear that their personal information will be misappropriated and misused. These technologies will be offered as services to both businesses and consumers. In order to use Privada's services, users will create on-line identities that cannot be matched to their real-world identities by any entity, including Privada itself.
The foundation of Privada's patent-pending technologies is an innovative network infrastructure. The infrastructure -- known as a Privada Network -- permits anonymity by combining existing encryption and digital identification technologies with a proprietary architecture to strictly compartmentalize and protect a user's identifying information. This infrastructure acts as a platform for Internet privacy, over which multiple applications can operate to privacy-enable all types of Internet transactions.
Privada has chosen to install Privada Networks at selected Exodus(TM) Internet Data Centers (IDCs) around the world, creating the option for Exodus customers to easily offer Privada-outsourced privacy services to their users.
"Exodus IDCs are the most secure and reliable in the world," said Barbara Bellissimo, president and CEO of Privada. "Our customers will trust nothing less with their confidential transactions. Our alliance allows us to deliver peak performance wherever our users are located. It's a pleasure to work with a company with the same dedication to service and respect for privacy that we have."
"We are proud to work with Privada to deliver industrial-strength privacy to their customers," said Ellen M. Hancock, president and CEO of Exodus. "Exodus' scalability, security and network expertise will allow Privada's services to perform at levels demanded by today's environment."
