It's kind of confusing. Linley says a Pentium II could have reached 500 MHz, and that's what he's using as a baseline cut-off. Sure, the Pentium ||| is already at 550 MHz, but according to Linley, this is the "mid-life kicker."

I disagree with him, since I think Pentium II could have reached higher clock speeds if Intel wanted it to. But of course, like we all said before, this is largely an academic discussion.
