As I understand, DIS has to have >50% approval of the 57% SEEK shares they don't yet own to make this deal come true. Unless they give some further explanation about the up-in-the-air valuation of GO.com, I doubt they can get the approval. I might be wrong, who knows. Personally, I think the thing should go the other way round. First, get IPO, or spin-off of the GO.com, and then use that stock to buy the rest of SEEK. Who can guarantee the sky-high valuation on Net stocks will be there by next year? Not even Greenspan. If DIS wants the high valuation of the Net property, they'd better do the IPO/spin-off right now when the market is still hot, don't hold it off until next year. Nothing lasts forever.
