Why would I want to pay 40,000 a month for an OC3 connection when it would be only marginally faster than my $70 a month 1.5 megabit DSL?

Unless I were running a porn server, and had to vend 45 megabits of data per second, I have no use for an OC3. I've used an OC3 at a server farm, and most commercial websites will not even vend data to an individual IP any faster than 80k a second, no matter how fast your connection. That's only half the bandwith of my DSL.
