industry. Look what happened back in 97 (check the chart). About this time of the year
the stock grew wings. I expect a very strong run up with Mr. Rosen at the helm. He's a
no-nonsense guy with huge resources behind him. At 23 (just a few days ago) this
stock was a screaming short term buy. Even buying here at 26 it's going to be an
excellent run-up in the next 4 months. Expect to see mid 30s in Sept at the latest.

BTW, people afraid of Y2k should listen to the Intel conf call as well as the Intel CFO on
CNBC today. They see no slow down now or for the rest of the year based on Y2K
issues.

A stock this liquid with this much in assets, brand recognition, and history at these
historical low prices is one of the clearest buy signals I can see in the market right now.

This is not about CPQ Vs. DELL or other stupid rivalries. They are both good
companies. But Dell is near it's all time high PE with expected earnings 99/00 of
.73/.98. While that's a respectable earnings increase, CPQ 99/00 earnings are
estimated at .47/1.29. CPQ is not going away, and the stock price is so low the only
way it can go is up.

One last thing, it might dip below 25 again one last time before the run up, but don't be
shaken from your tree. That's just how the MMs take your money from you. Then they
stop shorting and do an about face on you. That time is near.
