thanks for the response Keith. i never thought about liquidating first. probably would be quicker than transferring positions. how would it work if it's for an RRSP. there's probably a bit of paperwork involved eh? i've got both an RRSP and Investment acct.

also, the consensus seems like that C Schwab is the best around? I use Action Direct now and it sucks. been meaning to get out but didn't know it was so easy. They are a REAL DISCOUNT brokerage. don't give you anything in terms of value added stuff.
