The TCP/IP stack parameters are set for maximum effeciency over LANs. Only if you're using a modem, which uses smaller blocks in hardware compression, will "tweaking the registry" provide any benefit. If your network connection is an ethernet cable running out of your computer into a DSL/cable box or hub, win98 is already running as fast as it can, straight from the box.

But hey, I wouldn't expect you to know anything about the technical aspects of networking.

I'm betting you probably also expounded on the virtues of MemoryDoubler! (right before the company admitted it didnt do anything at all and had to refund millions of dollars)

Because as you well know, there's always a sucker hoping to get something for nothing..
