any reason to think this company may be the one to do it?

Cost to deploy:

A Real G2 Server 1000 stream = $65,000 (Software license)

Icecast or Apple Quick Time server = 0

I do agree Real has the major market share and will be difficult
to compete with but I also like to keep an eye on the possible
competition.

BTW Icecast streams mp3 only and no video yet.
