Pat, LOL 'bout 8/2, especially after seeing there will be "no new product" announcement but rather "technological advances" announcement. Stick a fork in me 'cause I think I'm done with this BS. Form Voodoomag guy's e-mail:

Hi again Voodoo Gurus...
Can you say "OOPS"? :-P
In the last Voodoo Review I published an item about an invite I received from 3dfx to check out a new upcoming "product". I have come to learn that due to a misunderstanding on my part, that statement was misreported.
The invite was to check out 3dfx's "next generation technology" which, in my excitement, I believed to be a new product. This was wrong. The official name for the meeting is "Graphics Technology Briefing" and 3dfx is NOT announcing a new product at this meeting. The contents of the meeting are under embargo and now that I'm officially under NDA I can't go into details until August 2nd, but to make things clear once again 3dfx is NOT announcing a new product at this meeting.
Here's an official quote from 3dfx's Brian Burke:
===
"We realize that our loyal customers are hungry for information on our next generation product. It is unfortunate that false expectations have been set as a result of a miscommunication. We will not be announcing our next generation product on August the 2nd, but will be sharing some very significant technological breakthroughs. These breakthroughs will be instrumental in moving 3D graphics technology forward. Our technology briefing will give our fans an idea of where 3dfx is taking 3D graphics in the future."

My apologies to 3dfx, Brian Burke and mostly to you readers. It was not my intention to mislead anyone or to spread crazy rumors. I hope everyone can forgive me for this bit or "wishful reporting" and I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't happen again.
