heinz,

Since we know this stuff goes on.. The purest game in town, imo, except for minor little stop runs and such, is the Index Futures..

For market direction people it is a natural.. and IMO, a person will tend to exhibit ONE HELLUVA LOT more discipline and money management in their trading because that inherent idea that losses can be devasting and risk unlimited. Which makes the overall risk less.

I do both.. kind of swing back and forth.. when no stocks show
up on the radar screen and I have a good idea of market direction, and rather than FORCE a trade on a stock, I'm playing the E-minis.. Day trade for only 2K/contract. 5K overnight..

Right now, the mini is good for me, because in this volatility, I can set a fairly wide stop without too much at risk, 5,6 points, so not to get stopped out before your trend is realized.

Anyway, it is just a thought, works for me, Good luck ..
