Schlep,
Just a few observations from someone not quite as bullish as Pat or ZO..
1- The street is at the end of its rope with NN. If they disappoint again, it will be very ugly. This may explain why the market reacted the way it did on only the rumor.
2- NN said they didn't know what caused the market activity. However, they didn't say they were comfortable with the quarter. They blew a chance to give some good news either because they're not comfortable to say that yet or they're being conservative. I've spoken to a few analysts who were disappointed by the lack of positive news in NN's statement.
3- People are bailing from this stock and moving on to stocks with bigger upsides. If you have to put up with the volatility, why not invest in online bookstores, router start-ups, anything.com or online brokers (like our friend Ian, who sold his NN to enter this market and will give us timely reports of his successes).
CONCLUSION:
Look at both sides of any argument before investing. As Pat said, investing in NN can be a rocky ride. So can AMZN,ATHM,YHOO,JNPR,....
Good luck,
Peppe |
