AMDs Dresdener Werk "Fab 30" ist auf Erfolgskurs. Geschäftsführer Hans Deppe konnte frohgemut vermelden, daß die ersten K6-Pilot-Prozessoren mit Kupfer-Interconnects erfolgreich vom Stapel gelaufen sind. Über die Ausbeute gibt es zwar keine Aussagen, aber in Dresden ist man zuversichtlich, bereits gegen Jahresende Kupfer-Athlons "backen" zu können, die möglicherweise 1 GHz Takt überschreiten. Damit würde man dem Konkurrenten Intel weiter enteilen.

AMD's Fab 30 in Dresden is drinking lots of Folgers. Workleader Johnny Depp is hopping like a green toad, as good die from the pilot process with copper interconnects have already received a good laugh from Staples. Soon the chip wars will have the megadie, as Dresden starts shipping screaming 1GHz Athlons based on copper. When Intel sees what this entails, they will use the "Damn" word.

Fab 30 will ship DM1.7 billion of good die and improve AMD's gross financials - those sissies [must mean Intel] will be toast. In February, wafer starts will begin at 850MHz with copper. Then this new effort will really zoom, and a man will need Doppler radar to catch this screamer.
