Hi Joby, yes it is. I work for an equipment maker. Our sister division is using the Infab Front Load and we are using the Asyst. We also have used both companies Indexers on our automated tools. I find the Asyst indexer to be built like a battleship. Real heavy and solid with good mechanical performance. The Infab (Jenoptic)m is kinda flimsy and we've had problems with power supplies and optics.
The Asyst front loader seems to suffer from little firmware indiscretions, but it has rollers to move it around and it's fairly easy to fix. My cohorts on the other side complain that the Infab is heavy, doesn't have rollers and jams more frequently. I will say the Infab door really moves fast, which keeps cycle time down. The Asyst is much slower. We went with Asyst because we also use their mini-environment and it seemed an easier integration.
Some of my interactions with Infab guys makes me wonder how long it will take to get them integrated with the BRKS operation. They have pretty different cultures. I don't know the details of who's moving with on the management team, but my own experience with this sort of thing leads me to expect a lot of chaos before it settles down.
