I think NBL is up near here: anyone? Calling Lake and this lake?( I think yes cause I just posted to Griz when he was posoting to Ashton Mining Thread Last Week see his GRINS!) Message 10366873 Message 10366873 Ashton Mining of Canada Inc - Ashton's field program and microdiamond results Ashton Mining of Canada Inc ACA Shares issued 29,230,665 1999-07-13 close $0.73 Wednesday Jul 14 1999 Also Alberta Energy Company Ltd (AEC) Mr. John Auston reports FIELD PROGRAMS Alberta The Buffalo Hills and joint venture lands encompass 5.5 million acres in north-central Alberta, where 32 kimberlites have been discovered to date, most of them diamondiferous. This summer's program will include ground geophysical surveys to investigate aeromagnetic anomalies with possible kimberlite signatures, as well as the continuation of heavy mineral sampling. The Cayo Lands comprise 21 million acres in northern Alberta. In 1998 and early 1999, approximately 230,000 line kilometres of regional aeromagnetic surveys were completed over portions of these lands. Promising aeromagnetic anomalies are now being investigated by detailed airborne and ground magnetic surveys in conjunction with heavy mineral sampling. The results of each of these programs will be used to define targets for drilling in the coming winter season. The joint venturers on the Alberta exploration programs are Ashton Mining of Canada Inc., Alberta Energy Company Ltd. and Pure Gold Minerals Inc. Under arrangements announced by the parties on Dec. 22, 1998, the interests of the joint venturers in the Buffalo Hills and joint venture lands upon completion of the current programs will be Ashton, 45 per cent; Alberta Energy, 45 per cent; and Pure Gold, 10 per cent. In accordance with the same arrangements, the corresponding interests for the Cayo Lands, after completion of the current programs, will be Ashton 35 per cent; Alberta Energy 35 per cent; and Pure Gold 30 per cent. Ashton is the operator of all of the programs. Northwest Territories and Nunavut Together with a number of joint venturers, Ashton is the holder of more than 500,000 acres of mineral claims in the Slave craton of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Since the inception of its northern exploration programs in 1993, Ashton has discovered four diamondiferous kimberlites. The 1999 summer program currently under way will focus on ground geophysical surveys, together with heavy mineral sampling to explain unresolved indicator mineral trains. The results of this program will be used to define potential targets for drilling early next winter. Quebec Ashton has been exploring in northern Quebec with its joint venture partner, Societe Quebecoise d'Exploration Miniere (SOQUEM) since 1996. The current field season continues a heavy mineral sampling program over a broadly favourable region of the Superior craton. MICRODIAMOND ANALYSIS - ALBERTA Analytical results were released on April 28, 1999, for four of the six kimberlites discovered in the Buffalo Hills and joint venture lands during the 1999 winter drill program. Analyses of small samples from kimberlites BH-229 (Buffalo Hills property) and BM-16 (Birch Mountain property) have now been completed. No diamonds were detected in either sample, and BH-225 therefore remains the most promising of the six kimberlites discovered in Alberta this year. It lies under 30 metres of overburden and is indicated by a magnetic anomaly measuring approximately 125 metres by 100 metres. Further work on this target is under consideration.
