LeeLyle,
If memory serves me right, I think TRW also did a lot of defense work. End of cold war hit them along with other defense contractors. Company has been busy reinventing itself. Checked out news on the company to get a general feel for them. The attached is of some interest given past inventory problems.

TRW Launches Worldwide Industrial Engineering Consulting Practice

Business Editors/High Tech Writers

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 1999--TRW (NYSE: TRW)
Integrated Supply Chain Solutions (ISCS), a premier global systems
integrator, today announced it has formed a new worldwide industrial
engineering practice to provide consulting services to the
manufacturing industry.
The global practice will offer customers the appropriate tools,
techniques, and methodologies to capitalize on all aspects of their
manufacturing processes and realize greater benefits to their bottom
line.
The goal of TRW's industrial engineering service is to drive down
product cost and increase clients' market share through maximum
utilization of factory resources. Unlike other factory consulting
services that focus on specific manufacturing operations, industrial
engineering connects and supports all components of the process
including facility requirements consulting, manufacturing planning and
factory integration.
TRW will leverage its end-to-end supply chain experience in its
industrial engineering offering, providing consulting support from the
front-end to the back-end of the factory. Services will include
productivity improvements, staff models, factory simulation, discrete
event simulation, layouts, training and tool optimization.
"Our industrial engineering services maximize efficiency across
the entire manufacturing process -- whether customers require one
simple solution or several complex solutions," said Dick Albani, TRW's
vice president of Manufacturing Management and Integration Solutions.
"This new offering complements our existing factory automation
solutions by extending our reach earlier into the lifecycle of new
factory construction."
TRW's industrial engineering practice will respond to a wide
variety of manufacturing customers' needs.
"If a customer wants to expand one of its manufacturing
facilities, for instance," said Terry Behrens, director of TRW's
industrial engineering practice, "the industrial engineering team
would survey its existing factory layout, produce a factory model,
evaluate alternatives, and apply the appropriate methodology to
address potential problems. Our consultants would then examine
financial timing, startup risk, optimal fab sizing and production ramp
while supplying the customer with an effective training program for
the new, expanded facility."
TRW Integrated Supply Chain Solutions (ISCS) delivers total
supply chain solutions from management consulting, to enterprise
resource planning, supply chain optimization, manufacturing execution
systems, and logistics execution systems. For more information, visit

TRW Inc. provides advanced technology products and services for
the automotive, aerospace and information technology markets
worldwide. The company's news releases are available through TRW's
