BIOLASE Technology, Inc. Releases State-Of-The-Art MVP Delivery System and Disposable Tips
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- BIOLASE TECHNOLOGY, INC. (Nasdaq: BLTI - news) announced the release of the MVP Laser Delivery System for use with the Millennium Hydrokinetic(TM) hard and soft tissue dental laser. The Micro Versa Prep-Hydrokinetic System (MVP-HS) incorporates state-of-the-art design and laser optics, clinical superiority and ergonomic design to provide dentists around the world with the most advanced laser delivery system available.
The MVP includes the significant addition of a line of disposable tips that can be used for a variety of clinical procedures. The tips can be easily and quickly changed, even during procedures. The tips will be available in a variety of lengths, diameters and shapes for expanded capabilities. These include a 400 micron tapered tip for micro dentistry that allows dentists to efficiently treat small pits and fissures in enamel and difficult to reach soft tissue sites, 500 and 600 micron tips that rapidly cut both hard and soft tissue at lower energy levels and a 750 micron tip that allows for quick removal of enamel, dentin, caries and soft tissue over large areas. In addition to the clinical advantages to the dentists, BIOLASE anticipates that the MVP line of disposable tips will provide an important source of recurring revenue to the company.
The MVP's new proprietary, advanced laser optics significantly increases its efficiency and expands the capabilities of the system. This significantly increases the cutting speed of the Millennium on enamel, dentin and caries, allowing dentists to perform more procedures in less time.
The user-friendly MVP handpiece rotates 360 degrees to allow greater ease accessing all areas of the mouth and increased intra-oral visibility for the clinician. Its small size, ergonomic design and support arm eliminates fatigue and provides more comfort when using the Millennium for long periods of time. The MVP also offers dental offices maximum sterility with the ability to autoclave the system.
The complete MVP system will be available to existing Millennium owners as an upgrade for a special offer of $3,900.
Jeffrey W. Jones, BIOLASE President and CEO, commented, ''The MVP demonstrates our responsiveness to the needs of both dentists and their patients. The goal of dentists around the world is to improve the standard of care for their patients. BIOLASE is providing them with the most advanced tools to achieve this goal.
