Hi Mark,

What I'm trying to say is that, if you open up for instance an NIV version (not that one in particular but just for the sake of example), there do appear to be inconsistencies. A rabbi told me it would be helpful if Hebrew versions of the originals could become available.

I found however last night that the idea that there are Hebrew versions of the New Testament books isn't held by all believers. I spoke with another believer - someone I trust to be reputable - about this and he said that he didn't believe there were hebrew versions of the books at all.

In any case it appears that the original Greek for a lot of the books is less than perfect.

What leads me to my faith goes beyond inconsistencies in the scriptures - faith reaches me through my own personal experience.

Having said that I don't hold it against others for their "disbelief."

On the other hand the position of the atheists does seem a bit strange as it's difficult for me to look at this world and not imagine that there is a creator. Now whether this was/is a committee or a single, sentient being; that's what the debate is all about I suppose. To say thought that it all happened by chance is the biggest stretch of all, in my opinion.

Thus theism or even deism - of any stripe - is superior to atheism in my opinion.

In any case everyone does have to answer the question for themselves... "Who was that carpenter from Nazareth?"

Again, my experience tells me he is Lord over all.

This is my testimony and I'll stick to it. <g>
