What road? My feeling is that there is less competition at the low end and that has something to do with today's 'muted' reaction. Much of Intel's problems arose because of the price wars and they ought to diminish when someone gets out of the market.

I figured + or - 1 or 2 points would be the reaction since it was a mixed report. Still we'll see what the price of the stock is in about a month - then the picture will become clear. Usually during the c.calls when companies miss in one way but are better in another way there is a fair bit of cloudy thinking.

Fact is even if you ignore next Q, they were 400 million short in rev. this Q. I will look at the earnings estimates going forward. If your revenue goes down -10% but your gross margins go up +500 basis points and your R&D goes up, you still make less money and what flows to the bottom line is the only telling number.
