†...Good afternoon Mark...†
Mark you wrote: if there are inconsistencies in the translations that we have available to us, and we don't have access to the originl Hebrew, doesn't that make literal translation rather dificult?
Mark There are no inconsistencies in the word of God. It may appear to some that there are, but in fact there are none. All apparent inconsistencies are easily reconciled. When the Holy Bible is approached with the respect and diligence it commands, no actual inconsistencies can be found.
There are records of the Hebrew writings, and the Greek writings, which substantiate fully the veracity and accuracy of the Holy Bible as it stands. A true student of God's word, and one with but a third or fourth grade education, has no problem at all seeing that the Bible is the most truthful and accurate book in the world! In the world Mark, can you grasp that? There is no other book in the universe that is so alive. There is no other book in this entire universe whose pages have prophesied hundreds of happenings and have had them come to pass. They are still coming to pass...as we speak!!
Only blind eyes, critical minds, and faithless hearts condemn and find faults with the most Holy Book ever given to man.
This Holy book, The Bible, is to be taken literally where it was meant to be ...and those with eyes to see and ears to hear...know the difference!
If you should ever allow God to open your eyes, if you should ever allow God to touch your heart, your mind would follow and you will be filled with His revelations of truth awaiting you in His most Holy book...the Bible! But until you first humble yourself and give God a chance, He has no reason to bestow upon you His greatness!
Mark, I could really get into the beginnings of this most Holy work (The Bible) for you, but I know you are not sincere in your quest to know. It would also take a great deal of time, a far greater amount of time than I have to spend here on this computer.Including evidence of prophesy that would make your head spin, even taking place righ now. Details, and proofs, that I have spent a lifetime gathering, but somehow Mark, I am not at all burdened to present them here.
Mark, Don has asked of you multiple times to just read the Gospel of John, and you will not even do that much. How do you expect God to ever bless you with the truth of His word when you will not even give Him the time to hear Him out? God is not mocked Mark. He knows those who love Him and want sincerely, to know Him.
Consider this Mark. Suppose you took the precious time to write a letter to all your loved ones, and in that letter you expressed your total unconditional love for them. Suppose further that you made promises to them of everlasting love and of boundless grace, and bequeathed to them, other undeserved gifts.Everything that meant anything to this was poured out of you from the bottom of your heart into this one letter. Suppose even further that all you asked of them was their love in return.
Now suppose that some, but not all of your loved ones, sincerely with a contrite heart read your letter, and some just read it to see what was in it for them. Suppose still that some did not read it at all, maybe because they were quite content in life and decided that they did not need to know what you had to say about anything...and anything you might have left them they could get on their own, they thought.
Suppose even further that some of your loved ones that had not read your letter, but had heard from others that you had left them one, decided that it was just easier to ask those who had read it...what it said. Also suppose that some of the ones who they asked, and just took from it what benefited them later would say of the of it, Aw, no big deal, I couldn't make much sense of it anyway.
Also suppose that some of whom they asked told them ..."wow..what a beautiful loving letter, I can't even begin to explain all the love that is within, it's too long and much too detailed to put into my words ...you must read it for yourself". But they would not!! Instead they would rather believe (for whatever reason...and God knows there are hundreds of various excuses) the negative and critical rumors which have sprouted from it!!
How could they ever know the truth, feel the love, take hold of the promises, or ever begin to understand even the slightest part of your heart, when they have refused to even open the letter. If that letter remains unopened on their table they will never ever know what it is you wanted them to know....No matter what anyone has to tell them
Let's also not forget about the group that were told of you before the letter. The group that always thought you were nothing but a trouble maker anyway, thought you had too much to say about certain issues and thought you had a chip on your shoulder, and rumored that you were not a fair guy in your dealings with people. Some of this same group also told outright lies about your character, and some even went so far as to say that you never really existed anyway. And that the people who loved you and carried on your work when you were not around....did so only because they were weak and needed something to believe in, so they created you in their minds. Let's not forget that in your fairness and unconditional love they also got this same letter, but because of their pride refused to accept it...and what is worse is they blinded and influenced others, and kept them from finding out the truth that was in your heart, poured out on the pages of your letter....by influencing them with a distorted concept of the entire letter..heaping lie upon lie until there was not an ounce of truth coming from their mouth about your most loving heart-felt personal letter to your loved ones!!
Now imagine...that you had not died at all, and you had seen and heard of all the terrible and unbelievable things said about your letter of love to all your loved ones. ....I could go on but I won't.
Matt 27:54 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Sincerely, Shalom...><> Prov 25:2 2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Now if you'll excuse me....My corner deli awaits my Tuna on Rye order...today I will have it with relish!
