I'd like to add one other overhang for the overall market and multinationals in general, the dollar. As the dollar gains strength, it poises problems for multinationals earning and makes US goods less attractive in the global market.

Higher interest rates also raises the specter of inflation, although there is no evidence of that in the empirical data.
