I see a resurgent Asia as a plus for semiconductors,

For whose semiconductors (theirs or ours). Only for ours if
you believe they are going to move up the food chain to be
system integrators and are going to buy chips from us. Both
bad bets. Their strategy is (has always been) to be exporters.

and declining costs per MIPS as irrelevant.

au contraire - as prices drop you gotta sell more to stay
even. sorta like the red queen in "through the looking glass"
.. you gotta run faster and faster to just stay in place.
All the harder if you gotta sell these more and more to
people who are not currently customers.

and in any case, you're a doctor, I'm the ex hotshot computer
marketer.

****

but enough of this thread for me. I am merely bitter cause
I like you bought an out of the market put on Intel (after
reading the Economist article) and was pleased when they
announced pending revenue declines. And then when they held
a news conference and everyone now says it is ok. And BRK
increases company assets and investable money by a factor of
three times and drops because of incidental revenue drops.
I am bitter. But then again. ICO is doing ever so well and
I owe that to you :)
