Hi Mark,
I discussing the apparent inconsistencies of the New Testament for instance, Shalom may very well be right that it is consistent through and through. I'm only saying that these translations do not appear to be completely consistent.

If one were a Greek scholar and studied the New Testament, and also knew the context of the various phrases, such as "a big board in your own eye," "camel through the eye of the needle," etc., perhaps in that even the entire canon would indeed be wholly consistent. It appears to me that by reading NIV, Revised Standard, King James Version or whatever, we do run into translational problems.

The core truth is there however, and the problems with consistency can be tracked down and solved to the satisfaction of each believer.

Obviously though, there are many sects among the followers of Yeshua (Jesus) as there are many sects amongst "traditional Jews" and Moslems; this appears to me to arise from varying interpretations of the sacred texts each faith holds dear.

Now, there is no way I could have written that previous sentence without having offended someone... but there you have it in any case.

FWIW
Andy
