NEWS RELEASE July 14th, 1999 Alaska Exploration Program Commences Almaden Resources Corp (AMH-VSE) and Williams Creek Resources (WCX-VSE)are pleased to announce that field crews have been working on the Sonora property located directly south of the Pogo Property in the Goodpaster Mining District of east central Alaska, where Teck/Sumitomo have discovered a resource of 9.98 Mt grading 0.52 oz/ton gold and are continuing exploration and development of their properties. Ninety stream sediment samples and ninety pan concentrates samples were taken in the first phase of work. All samples have been submitted to Bondar Clegg's Fairbanks prep lab for gold plus 35 element analysis. Initial results are expected shortly. Upon receipt of favorable lab results, the company will pursue Phase 2 of the program which would consist of further detailed stream silt sampling, soil sampling and detailed prospecting by company personnel to identify areas with high potential for gold deposition.
